“Some individuals may perceive their losing fight with gravity as a sharp pain in their back, others as the unflattering contour of their body, others as constant fatigue, yet others as an unrelentingly threatening environment. Those over forty may call it old age. And yet all these signals may be pointing to a single problem so prominent in their own structure, as well as others, that it has been ignored: they are off balance, they are at war with gravity.” --Ida P. Rolf, Ph.D.

Sometimes our low back pain can be caused by the joints in our pelvis. Don't forget about those sacroiliac (SI) joints! They are important too. Dr. Allison and Dr. Tara have a variety of techniques that can be utilized to treat SI joints that are restricted.

Spinal stenosis is one of the most common causes of cervical radiculopathy. Stenosis, generally, means that there is narrowing of the spinal canal which can be caused by a number of different things- it could be the disc, the bone, tumor and trauma.
Did you know even old age can cause spinal stenosis?
As we age, our ligaments can thicken or bone spurs can develop which ultimately narrows the canal in which the spinal cord resides. X-rays do not always provide enough information to confirm spinal stenosis, and it is recommended that the patient also receives an MRI. Some patients may have stenosis and not show any symptoms. In most cases, non-operative treatment is suitable, however, if the patient is experiencing increased pain and/or the inability to walk, surgical treatment will be considered.
